The practice took its present shape in 2021, when Todd Nicholls merged two tax firms he had been running — one started in Xenia in 2017, the other in Beavercreek in 2019 — and moved their combined client base into a single Beavercreek office. Nicholls spent 26 years in the United States Air Force before taking a Master's degree in accounting and becoming a licensed CPA. Work spans tax preparation, accounting and bookkeeping, payroll, and tax and business consulting, with the consulting side covering entity selection for new businesses and representation if a client is audited. Senior accountant David Elgersma is the firm's QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor; accountant Micah Carl is working toward a bachelor's degree in accounting at Sinclair Community College. Clients include individuals and families, business owners, and people managing trusts and estates. The website carries the name Nicholls & Guckian CPA.
